RECYCLERS EMPOWERMENT PROJECT:

This exciting program involves Empowering certain disempowered and people, with a sustainable infrastructure, IMMEDIATELY!

THIS PROJECT PROVIDES YOUR COMPANY WITH A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY ... PARTICIPATE VIA SPONSORSHIP FOR POSITIVE & PERMANENT MOBILE ADVERTISING!!!

For those who have noticed... How many times have you seen a person pushing a trolley, piled with waste paper or discarded cardboard boxes?

 FROM THIS

For those who have being paying attention, you would also have noticed:

  • These people have either helped themselves to a shopping mall trolley, or have fashioned their own unit, for the purpose of collecting recyclable materials, in order to earn a meagre living.
  • It is a labour-intensive job, requiring they push a loaded trolley for many kilometres a day, in all weather conditions. Not a pleasant occupation!
  • Although not a job they’d prefer, they are at least demonstrating that they are willing to work, instead of resorting to crime- in spite of it being a most uncomfortable job.
  • The reason that they are doing this, is obviously because they have been unable to find other employment for one reason or another. Instead of sitting on their duffs (or resorting to theft), these people have embarked on a course of action!
  • This course of action is extremely hard labour under extreme conditions, and if anyone doubts this, let them try it for a day and we’ll talk again.
  • These individuals should be seen as the unsung Heroes of our society!

THE PROJECT

In light of the above, this is where F.O.W.L.E.’s ‘Recyclers Empowerment Project’ kicks in, and it works like this:
It involves a F.O.W.L.E. truck, carrying a certain item (We’ll reveal what it is just now), driving around, locating these individuals.
Once such an individual is found, he (they are usually male), will be approached and spoken to regarding what he’s doing.
Once it is ascertained that he is a bona fide recycler trying to make a living, the F.O.W.L.E. representative will offer him an exchange:
To swap his trolley or makeshift trolley for a BRAND NEW BICYCLE WITH AN ATTACHED TRAILER!
It would be difficult to imagine him refusing such an exchange!

TO THIS

But that’s not all – he would be given a few other items to go along with this:
  • A pair of hardwearing shoes and socks.
  • A cyclist's crash helmet.
  • A reflective safety over-jacket – to make him conspicuous to traffic.
  • An all-weather jacket.
  • A raincoat.
  • A water bottle.
  • A basic tool and puncture repair-kit.
  • A box of plasters for cuts abrasions, and blisters.

In addition, the trailer will be fitted with a small locker in which to place his raincoat, water bottle and personal effects – this would be lockable.
The trailer would be fitted with reflector-chevrons to make his vehicle visible on the roads.
He will be given two copies of ownership, with his fingerprint stamped onto it – one of these copies will be hidden in a compartment known only to the new owner, so that in the event that his vehicle is stolen, he would be able to prove ownership, and recover it.
He will also be given a list of alternative recycling depots in case his usual depot is closed for any reason. If the person is unable to read, their locations will be carefully explained to them.

WHY THE RECYCLERS PROJECT?

The reason F.O.W.L.E. has embarked on this project, is to alleviate the hardship and suffering of these people; to Empower them through the supply of a decent transporting unit, which will make their job that much safer, far more efficient, and enable them to collect far more recyclable material without leaving a carbon footprint. This in turn keeps our cities and countrysides clear of waste paper, and will bring the recycler more income, thereby uplifting their standard of living and reducing loss of trollies from businesses.

F.O.W.L.E. would require one thing only from the recycler – that he does not remove the signs that will be affixed to the rear and sides of the trailer.
One of these signs will bear the wording ‘RECYCLERS PROJECT BY F.O.W.L.E.’

WHY SPONSOR?

In the case where a SPONSORSHIP is supplied, the BRAND/LOGO name of the sponsor will clearly be displayed on the side-panels of the trailers.

These sponsorships are tax deductible.

Community upliftment in line with your mission.

A permanent and mobile very visible positive advertisement and oh, WHAT AN ADVERTISEMENT!

 WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

The great advantage of this drive, is that, since each unit will cost around R6,000 or $800, it puts donations for complete units directly in the range of the average earner! This means that individuals can also participate in the exercise!

Moreover, it will be an ongoing enterprise – one that can be employed throughout the World, since even in 1st world countries, in cities like New York, for instance, there are many ‘derelict’ people who suffer under similar conditions – it is by no means confined to 3rd world countries.

Since this enterprise involves adapting ordinary bicycles into transport vehicles, and there being bicycle manufacturers already geared to this sort of manufacture, we hope to bring such manufacturers on board to produce the entire vehicle for F.O.W.L.E.
We also hope to get shoe, clothing & safety gear manufacturers  involved and through this, make every cent stretch!

EMPOWERMENT

We are living in a world where mobility is crucial, and being able to move cargo (albeit small), is the next step up – this is EMPOWERMENT, which is exactly what F.O.W.L.E. is about!

The more people are mobile and able to transport goods, the more Empowered the economy becomes.
Most importantly, this form of transport does not generate carbon monoxide that contributes to global warming – indeed, it is beneficial to the ecosystem, and even the cleanliness of our cities!
One would have to go far to find a project with such an impact that is so easily sustainable, and able to expand or contract indefinitely according to the availability of funds!
